Sorry everyone, I have had a long weekend and I wasn’t home, but I’m back and I had a bad game to show for it! This was TvT and I played awful. I was very slow, never even expanded to a second base. I was slow moving and I was out teched, he had his starport way before I did. He actually came in and build over my refineries early game with an SCV which threw me off, so it was just a weird game for me. I have one more placement match, I will most likely be put into bronze league, but we will see!

I was just about to play a match, and I was reading something about how important it is to scout. I figured, you know, I don’t really need to scout, it can’t be THAT important since I’m a noob and I probably won’t know a good defense anyway! Well then I played this match and I will now be scouting EVERY MATCH! I lost before the 10 minute mark even came up! I then realized, after watching the replay, that he build 5 barracks!! I was overwhelmed by marines, and didn’t even freaking comprehend that he built that many barrack. Next match I WILL be scouting and I will be trying to put up a few static defenses.

This was a dumb game in my opinion. My opponent did nothing but build up defense and just wait. It was really boring, I finally just built a massive army and tried to break his defense but it was insane. It was all banshees and huge auto turrets. I don’t know how to beat an opponent like this? The match was a good experience I just need to figure out how to break his defense. 

Couldn't Play a Match Today

Didn't have time to play a game today, but I will play two tomorrow to make up for it! I have learned a lot in the past couple days, so I will need to actually apply what I learned in the game!

5th Match: Me vs. Bloggins (first real match!!)

So this was an awful first match for me. I started off just as I normally would, but I was supply blocked 3 times during the match (have to watch my supply more often!) I built two barracks like usual but accidentally added a reactor to both so I usually have a bunch of marines constantly being built, but I had next to none and mostly all marauders. Well I figured I could hold out with air support until I built my starport, but Bloggins (first real opponent) attacked with like 4 void rays and took me out because I had no defense. It was a good experience now that I have my first match out of the way, I just need to watch my supply and make smart choices!

4th Match: Me vs. Medium Computer

This was my best game by far. My collection Rate was the highest it has ever been and my unspent minerals was a really low 582 (low for me!). I started off building 2 barracks and then built an engineering structure, and then a factory, and finally a star port (although the star port didn’t do me much good cause I had pretty much sealed the deal). I knew in this game that I needed to get up a defense quick to defend against the rush. I did that perfectly and I defended the first attack since I started playing medium computers. I then proceeded to attack the computer’s base after his rush to see if his defenses were low, but he took me out pretty quickly. I then amassed a big army, took out his 2^nd attack very quickly then went on to defeat the computer’s base. Great match! I'm probably going to try a hard computer tomorrow and see how well I do. By the way, I'm playing as Terran and against Terran and I'm going to get the ins and outs of the race. Then I will switch to Zerg and Protoss!

This was a better game for me. I kept my resources lower than any other game, which is what I’m trying to focus on. I started off bad again though, this time the computer came into my base twice and I had to use my SCV’s on them, but I eventually had a big battle in the middle of the map and I took out his army then proceeded to destroy his base. 

2nd Match: Me vs. Medium Computer

This was (I think) a lot better of a game for me. This computer was on medium so it was a little more challenging! I started off with what I thought was good, doing my normal barracks and things like that, but apparently I was slow because the computer brought in marines and marauders within minutes to my base and I only had a couple marines to ward him off, which was enough! Ultimately I had to use my SCV's to defeat the remaining marauders, but I took them out and resumed. I realized I was going slow so I quickly built a factory and star port and the computer gave me a few more harasses, but I kept them away and I finally invaded the computer's base and took it out quite easily! 

1st Match: WWJD (Me) vs. Easy Computer

I am very rusty seeing as I haven't played since I bought the game awhile back, and I wasn't good at the game then so that doesn't help either! So here are my basic stats:

This was a decent game for me I would think. I definitely need to work on keeping my unspent resources a lot lower. I started off the match creating SCV's and Supply Depots like usual. I started off very slow because I completely forgot the controls (yeah probably should have looked those up before the match)! Then I went on to create my Refinery at about 2:40 (too late, early, what?) I then created my barracks and Engineering Bay at around 4:00 minutes. Then started creating an army with 2 barracks sending out marines and marauders. I proceeded to rush the enemy base after a foolish rush by the computer and I nearly picked off most of the SCV's but I ended up losing my army. I then created another army and attacked again, and finally the surrender came up. It was a great match that lasted 22:41. (this was played on slow) I might play some again today and may post another match, but tomorrow I will try my luck at a medium skilled computer and see if I can defeat it! Any tips that you may have please comment!

Beginner in Starcraft II

This blog I will be playing Starcraft II daily and I will report about how I do on this website. I might upload a couple of replays of me playing. I am no pro in any sense of the word, and it will take me a long time to even be decent at the game.
